Last Tuesday afternoon I got a call from my music teacher from school, Mr Garner, its concert time again and he wants me to help his chior out in the 'Christmas with the Stars' concert again, plus the Caterham Christmas concert.
Last Wednesday day I got paid. Woo-hoo! By Friday after all the bills I only had £150 left. D'oh!!
Also on Wednesday I passed up on going body pump (as I felt too tired for the body pump/badminton double), took a lil nap instead but failed to wake in time to go badminton, Oops.
On Thursday evening Gregg invited me to join him for an 'invite only', Ted Baker sale evening, with complimentary drinks and 20% off everything. As you know I'm never one to pass up a new experience, so went along. I did buy something. A black shirt; £75 (before discount)!!
Saturday was firework night and as usual my brother, Shaun, hosted the fireworks but at a new venue; my other brother, Brian, had the night at his new house (only bought 2 months before). Brian laid on the barbecue while Shaun handled the light show. Shaun always gets professional fireworks and it took a few attempts to find the balance between spectacle and life saving body swerves! To close the night he brought a firework named 'When Roswell Attacks!'. It cost £75 and was 3' across and 1' deep! This monster started off sane enough with gentle spiralling whizzes, but about a minute in the was an almighty scream as the main body of the firework ignited. The UFO shaped disc shot up into the air, leaving behind a smoke trail, and when it reached a point higher in the sky than I've seen any firework, it exploded and lit up the sky. Very impressive. My spiritual sister, Sarah, come along for the night too.
Sunday I went shopping down Bluewater with work friend Melissa. I wanted to get a cardigan as I've decided to jump on that bandwagon. I also ended up buying an Armani jumper and a Reiss top as well. I only spend a quarter of what Melissa spent thou; she bought 2 suits, a black skirt, a pair of boots and a Calvin Klein overcoat (that even with a 10% discount for a missing button, still cost over £200).
Monday at circuit training I wanted to give 100% to each minute of the 13 exercises we have to perform but 4 from the end of the 2nd set I ran out of steam and didn't have the energy to lift my arm, let alone do a minute of squat thrusts! The instructor also made us do deadlifts. My back is still hurting from it now! Also met up with Channa in the gym afterward but had no energy still to work out, so chatted instead.

How Squish (is trying) to get his groove back
One I've learnt this past week is that when you've spent almost 2 weeks lazing about laying on the beach and sipping on fruit punch, it's difficult to get back into regular life; you know the standard 9 to 5 (or 6 in my case). I've only just managed to squeak into work on time each day, thank God that the schools are on their summer break, making the roads quieter, because that's been my saving grace right now.
It hasn't taken me that long however to get back into staying up past midnight for no particular reason, usually falling asleep about 1am while watching one of my tv show box sets; House, Married with Children or the Animaniacs. And I wonder why I'm always so tired in the morning!
I returned to my Body Pump class and badminton on Wednesday, which feel great to be exercising again but I did ache Thursday and Friday which mean I must of hit the right spot!
And finally I attempted to watch Brokeback Mountain on Friday evening. It was on Sky, had won 3 Oscars, and I was aware that it was a love story between two cowboys. I gave it a go. I managed to get past the first sex scene as it was just short scene, mostly fumbling but moments later when it looked like the two guys where about to kiss I had to bail out! I'm not homophobic, but watching guys kiss! Not for me!

Beefcake! BEEFCAKE!
I did it! I finally made it back down the gym for the first time in 2 months! I did 25 minutes on the cross trainer then worked on my shoulders and arms. I guess the real test though will be if I can get up tomorrow morning. I have struggled so far to get up after badminton and steps last week and this, but now I can get back on track with my goal to become a beefcake like Eric Cartman. Beefcake! BEEFCAKE!

A lil bit of this, a lil bit of that..
What a weekend it could of been. What with Red Nose day on Friday; St Patrick's Day on Saturday and Mother's Day on Sunday - If you mom was a fund raising Irish comedian she would of been on a 3 day bender!
Sunday was the 1st F1 Grand Prix of the year, and I woke up at 2am Saturday night to watch it. Thankfully it was a good race, the Ferrari won and Alonso got beat. Hopefully those two events will happen every race weekend, and that will make me a very happy bunny! If you've had an eye on the British press of media only one thing happened race weekend; Lewis Hamilton came 3rd. You'd have to look, real hard, to read anywhere that Kimi Raikkonen won, for the first time in over a year, and on his debut in a new car for a new team!
Last night I stayed back late at work to type up and print out my sledgehammer of a letter to Sky. I sent one letter to the complaints department and another to the Managing Director. The little people have no power.
Today, my day off, I visited the gym again. I'm back in the swing and the crowds have dwindled from the New Year fitness fads. Feels good to be back. I also had a lovely sauna a steam, and guess what was in the changing rooms....
sweaty pants!

Pants for nothin
Yesterday was my day off and I rushed to the gym, slightly concerned by my emerging spare tyre. Thought I'd go for a calorie burning routine and finish off with a nice little sauna.
All went well; I threw in a bit of weight training too, like a wee cherry on top! Went back to the dressing rooms to change into my trunks for the sauna and there next to my bag, hanging on a peg, was someones clothes - with their underpants topmost!

Its not the 1st time I've seen such a sight there; last summer there was a pair hanging in the same manner but they were decorated with a dirty great skid mark, as long as the M4!
Now this 'pants on display' has to be either the work of genius or of a gibbering idiot:-
Genius; There has been pickpockets in the dressing rooms in the past and leaving ones dirty, sweaty pants on display would stop anyone coming near your stuff. Just like garlic wards off the evil spirits.
Idiot; Its just plain dumb to leave your soiled under-garments in plain sight of everyone!!

My long overdue date with gym.
Hola amigos! Bienvenido a Squish Pages. Que tal?
My first day off of the year and its time to get reacquainted with the gym. I haven't been since October I think. Gotta maintain the body beautiful, plus I will be running in the Roding half marathon this year (13 miles), so need to start training and raising my fitness for that. I did run it last year, but only made 8 miles before my legs locked up like an old rusty hinge.

Don't leave me. I can change!
The upgrade of Squish Pages continues with the 'new style' template now employed. It means for me I don't have to now insert HTML code for 3rd party add ons like the Yahoo Avatar, or the Miniclips games, which I don't think you guys have tried yet :( straight into the blogs HTML's code but rather, import it and the insert via the 'drop a drag' method. (Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz)
The archiving works slightly different too with it now (BORING!!!!) working off a drop down menu. To help you find those old posts quicker!
Just to let you photo lovers know that there will soon be an abundance of photos coming; what with Jumping Jaks this Saturday, my work's xmas do down Jongleurs comedy club next Monday night. Singing with Caterham High, in the Albert Hall next Wednesday. Two xmas meals next weekend, and Channa's 21th the following week. Plus I should be having some time off before xmas and me and my ever beautiful sister, Sarah, should taking in 1 or 2 of this fair country's fair cities.
Last night was my 1st of this year's festive nights out when I joined my old office of Barkingside for their xmas meal. We had Italian in South Woodford. 7 of us were there but 3 of us actually didn't work in the office anymore and there was 3 no shows from the current roster. Nevertheless we had a good time with a bit of catching up too.
Day off today, might go to the gym and sauna..... might do.

I used to be apathetic, but now I don't care!
'Hands up who likes procrastination?'
'You will tell me tomorrow?'
'Fair enough.'
I've been lacking the motivation to visit the gym this week. In a normal week I'd go at least 3 times, not including 'badminton Wednesday' and my Monday night aerobics class. But this week I've been putting it off. Was going to go on my day off; use the gym and then have a nice steam and sauna, but then I put it off. As I did Thursday after work, and Friday after work and now Saturday after work.
I will go tomorrow about 11 am. (Yeah right!)

Lets get physical!
Well, I returned to the gym on tuesday after taking a month away from it, due to being too tired from work (and maybe a lil lazy too). Thought I'd go for a calorie burn, ease back into it. Spent about an hour on the running machine, bike, cross trainer and rowing machine. 450 calories!! Takes 10 minutes to eat and an hour to get rid of. Now I know why gals are always dieting!
