Work Xmas do (well my old office)

Well, the holiday season kicked into gear for me on Friday night when I went to the office Christmas meal, but it was my old office in Barkingside. Their invite went out, as usual, to not only the current roster of staff, but also also old staff members now in other offices. That meant that 80% of Ilford's office was there to.

We went to a Greek restaurant in Gants Hill, Appollina. I had been there before but under its previous guises of Meze Meze and Mythos. The host office had prepared for the night by leaving the following day's diary empty so that the night could be enjoyed to its fullest. I drove so 1/2 a glass of wine was my limit.

There was a DJ/singer who entertained us whilst we ate then later on came some entertainment in the form of dancers; a guy who danced while balancing a stack of glasses on his head, then a belly dancer (who might I add was absolutely gorgeous) who dragged a number of guys up to dance with her in turn, but I was her first!

By the end of the night it all went the disco route, with everyone on our table dancing (we were also by far the loudest group). The night all wrapped up about 1am.

Its Magic!?

Below follows a video I found on a forum yesterday. I was actually quite stunned by the content. I wont say much more apart from saying that it is a stage performed magic trick, and I also must apologise for the nudity. If you're under 18 then don't look! I felt I had to show you guys. Its probably on youtube, but I don't do youtube, so wouldn't know.

(N.B I had to look for it on youtube in the end as 2 attempts to upload the video through Blogger failed)

So....... thanks to youtube.com

A funny thing happened at work...

On Friday something happened at work, which seeing as I've been an estate agent for nearly 5 years, its a surprise it hasn't happened before. Let me set the scene....

When a home is repossessed by the bank for non payment of a mortgage, its always with plenty of notice. A bailiff and a locksmith turn up evict whomever is inside and change the locks to secure the property. The occupant then has 14 days to contact the estate agent, preselected by the bank to receive the keys and later market the property, to gain access and clear the property of their belongings.

On Thursday a flat was repossessed. It was being rented out, so the tenants were turfed out. It was a mother and baby! So when the locksmith dropped the keys into our office he told us to be as to be as accommodating as possible with access.
On Friday a lady bristled into the office a declared that her baby was sick and she needed to get some medicine from the property which she was evicted from. At first I was going to go, but then Sharon went. 20 minutes later Alan dashed out of the office after receiving a call from Sharon. The lady and her boyfriend had lied just to get back into the flat and now were refusing to leave! After a stand off lasting 2 hours with the couple being incredibly abusive and several calls to he repossession company for advice, Sharon and Alan had to walk away from the property. The couple won the battle but will lose the war as they will only be evicted again, only this time forcible, with no access rights given next time.

A lil bit of this, a lil bit of that!

Last Tuesday afternoon I got a call from my music teacher from school, Mr Garner, its concert time again and he wants me to help his chior out in the 'Christmas with the Stars' concert again, plus the Caterham Christmas concert.

Last Wednesday day I got paid. Woo-hoo! By Friday after all the bills I only had £150 left. D'oh!!

Also on Wednesday I passed up on going body pump (as I felt too tired for the body pump/badminton double), took a lil nap instead but failed to wake in time to go badminton, Oops.

On Thursday evening Gregg invited me to join him for an 'invite only', Ted Baker sale evening, with complimentary drinks and 20% off everything. As you know I'm never one to pass up a new experience, so went along. I did buy something. A black shirt; £75 (before discount)!!

Saturday was firework night and as usual my brother, Shaun, hosted the fireworks but at a new venue; my other brother, Brian, had the night at his new house (only bought 2 months before). Brian laid on the barbecue while Shaun handled the light show. Shaun always gets professional fireworks and it took a few attempts to find the balance between spectacle and life saving body swerves! To close the night he brought a firework named 'When Roswell Attacks!'. It cost £75 and was 3' across and 1' deep! This monster started off sane enough with gentle spiralling whizzes, but about a minute in the was an almighty scream as the main body of the firework ignited. The UFO shaped disc shot up into the air, leaving behind a smoke trail, and when it reached a point higher in the sky than I've seen any firework, it exploded and lit up the sky. Very impressive. My spiritual sister, Sarah, come along for the night too.

Sunday I went shopping down Bluewater with work friend Melissa. I wanted to get a cardigan as I've decided to jump on that bandwagon. I also ended up buying an Armani jumper and a Reiss top as well. I only spend a quarter of what Melissa spent thou; she bought 2 suits, a black skirt, a pair of boots and a Calvin Klein overcoat (that even with a 10% discount for a missing button, still cost over £200).

Monday at circuit training I wanted to give 100% to each minute of the 13 exercises we have to perform but 4 from the end of the 2nd set I ran out of steam and didn't have the energy to lift my arm, let alone do a minute of squat thrusts! The instructor also made us do deadlifts. My back is still hurting from it now! Also met up with Channa in the gym afterward but had no energy still to work out, so chatted instead.
