With all the recent excitement I missed Squish Pages 1st birthday! I know! Squish Pages turned one on August 17th and I missed it! I'll have to have a belated birthday celebration this coming Bank Holiday weekend once I've thought about what to do.
In the mean time.... I had me a rather busy weekend. On Sunday I had to go to a friend's (Ruth - I used to work with her at Barkingside) mom's stone setting. I was at the Jewish Cemetery up near Waltham Abbey and as it was my first time at a Jewish funeral I was unsure of what I should do and when. Her daughter, Laura, made sure I felt included telling me to stay near her dad for guidance. We first had to file into an oval shaped room, men one side, women on the other, then the Rabbi sang verses out of a book. After about 15 minutes of that we all ventured outside again, paid respect to the rose bush planted in Ruth's mom's honor, then onward to the grave stone. It was a huge, double width and made of white and black marble. The Rabbi did another verse joined in by a lot of the men, then everybody dispersed. Next stop, to Ruth's for tea. I had to pass because I was actually badly hungover after the Saturday night I had.....
....Guildford was the scene. Me, Dan H, Dan B and Gregg, the players. It was the do-over for the July attempt to meet up and 'wet' Dan H and Bec's son Harry. The added bonus this time, Dan H had had his birthday during the week. We all had dinner, then when to a pub named 'Pews' for drinks. And for the whole night the drinks kept flowing. After the pub was the club where there was more drinking. I thought I should slow down at this point as I had to drive early the next day but it was already to late. I was seeing double. And for the last 45 mins of the night I had to sit down. I was wrecked. The walk, (stagger) back to the hotel was a hoot too, but that's another story.
I know I've said it before but I'm never drinking again. I slept all day Sunday after returning home. Never again. Well until next time anyhoo.

A few of my favourite things
Thought I'd share some of my favourite sites, and the links and get into this whole networking thing.
First up is apple trailers. Being a bit of a movie buff I like to keep an eye on new and upcoming films and get quite ticked off when one makes it to theaters without me knowing about it months in advance. This site has trailers to a lot of current and upcoming movies.
Next, I really like the celebrity photos and 'red carpet' photos, for those I visit a number of sites my favourites being usemycomputer.com, and the forum at superiorpics.com. They both have tons and tons of HQ photos going back years!
For general information I use wikipedia.org. An online, constantly updated and amended encyclopedia. There's nothing it don't know, and if there is then it can be user updated, subject to verification. Neat!
Finally for games and some cartoons miniclip.com is my destination. There's always fun little games to play and new ones appear all the time. Plus there's some cartoon shorts which are entertaining.
Welcome to a slice of my world.

1000 hits and counting!
Well the heading says it all really. 1003 visitor hits to this site since October, but 2469 actual pages viewed! Which means that the average visitor looks at a couple of pages each time! To be honest I'd like 1000 hits a day, but that will have to wait until I turn squish pages into a porn blog!!

A challenge met.
I've already got in trouble this week for gloating but here I am about to do it again! Will I ever learn?
This week, on Tuesday I think, I finally surpassed Charlene's myspace visitor numbers. As the only other one of my friends links to have a counter, she naturally became a target for me to shoot for. Her myspace has had way more track time than my blog but 'I've now had more hits!'
Yay me!!
Her page can be found here, Charlene's World

The World of Ghostwriter56 and Friends
So, me ole mucker Jason finally has his blog on line. 'The world of Ghostwiter56 and Friends'. I am so glad I never went to the Christmas meals now, it seems that everyone there was subjected to some weird transmogrification. And that would of well put me off my food! Thanks for the link by the way the favour is returned.

Don't leave me. I can change!
The upgrade of Squish Pages continues with the 'new style' template now employed. It means for me I don't have to now insert HTML code for 3rd party add ons like the Yahoo Avatar, or the Miniclips games, which I don't think you guys have tried yet :( straight into the blogs HTML's code but rather, import it and the insert via the 'drop a drag' method. (Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz)
The archiving works slightly different too with it now (BORING!!!!) working off a drop down menu. To help you find those old posts quicker!
Just to let you photo lovers know that there will soon be an abundance of photos coming; what with Jumping Jaks this Saturday, my work's xmas do down Jongleurs comedy club next Monday night. Singing with Caterham High, in the Albert Hall next Wednesday. Two xmas meals next weekend, and Channa's 21th the following week. Plus I should be having some time off before xmas and me and my ever beautiful sister, Sarah, should taking in 1 or 2 of this fair country's fair cities.
Last night was my 1st of this year's festive nights out when I joined my old office of Barkingside for their xmas meal. We had Italian in South Woodford. 7 of us were there but 3 of us actually didn't work in the office anymore and there was 3 no shows from the current roster. Nevertheless we had a good time with a bit of catching up too.
Day off today, might go to the gym and sauna..... might do.

New game.
I've posted a new game. Snowboard Madness. For those of you who likes your skiing.
Also Squish Pages is now on the newer version of Blogger which has a host of new features for me to discover. One so far is the use of 'labels'; linking all posts of a similar subject together! Ooooo!

Games, booze and movies
First off, if you guys have a couple of minutes spare, check out the two games on me links bar; Penguin Arcade and Scribble ->. They're like online flash games. The only cost is your bandwidth. A mildly diverting gift to all my blog fans.
Well I managed to get out of the house this weekend, the 4 walls driving me crazy, and spent me time with two beautiful people; namely Gregg and Louise. (Now pay attention 007. I know 2 Greggs: One with 1 'G', Pimp Daddy Blanc, just had his 21st. And one with 2 'G's, long time best pal and fellow Capricorn)
With Gregg, it was Saturday night in Shorditch. Probably now considered our regular. We visited a few bars and tried one in particular call Flava, but it was guest list only. I think I upset Gregg that night though, as he wanted to stay out and book a hotel room and worry about getting home in the morning. But as I'm in pauper mode I poo-pooed his idea, catching the last train home and leaving him to his own devices!
da last train home
Sunday, I had Louise for company and we watched the movie 'Tenacious D In The Pick Of Destiny'. Now I have to admit this was not my choice of film, and would not have made it into my list at all, but it was actually thoroughly entertaining and totally enjoyable. I'm glad I saw it! Thanx Lou!

Well excuse me!
Have you seen these two? Look out for them as they are considered dangerous!! Do not approach them!
Vicky
Martin
First up is Vicky. She has admonished me for her not appearing on Squish Pages enough times and 'would like the next entry to be devoted to how much I miss her'. Well I admit she has been missed whilst away at uni, her directness, bluntness and in-your-face honesty also missed. But she will be down early December for the Jumpin Jaks Christmas do and I'm sure over Christmas. So, see you soon Victoria!x
Second up is Martin, who feels that Squish Pages is lacking that zap and zest that it had when it was loaded with the Australia trip photos. Maybe he was suggesting that I need to go on holiday again to make things 'interesting' again. Well I'd love to go away again, but I only get 4 weeks off each year, so Squish Pages will have to be 'boring' more often than not!

The big Five-0
This is the fiftieth post on the Squish Pages. I was hoping that it's 50th coincided with some momentous occasion that could be shouted out from the rooftops and make the moment of reaching 50 that much more special. Well it hasn't. It's an ordinary Tuesday evening in November, bit mild for the time of year (pleasantly so), but a little damp at present. My 3 times a week gym routine still hasn't clicked back into place, so I'm not there tonight. However, Mr Garner (my old school music teacher, for the uninitiated) has called to say its Christmas concert time again, and my annual invite to join the choir is extended once more! There is a 2 hr practice tonight which I'm about to go to. So no bells and no whistles.
I do want to say another big thanks to all my visitors though, who make continuing with this blog worth all the while. In the 6 weeks of the counter being installed I've received just shy of 280 hits! (I know. The first 7 visits was me!). With the actual number of total pages viewed by visitors standing at a whopping 911! Which I guess means when you guys click on any link within my page that doesn't lead you off of it. So thanks again for your support. And if you're new here; have a look around. Take a look at what I've been up to. MAKE COMMENTS! And have fun!
A-cheers!

2 1/2 months old!
It seems that I've got my facts and figures all wrong. Squish pages was born on 17 August, while the counter was only installed 1 October. Which means squish pages is actually 2 1/2 months old, and the now 169 hits have all been generated in just 4 weeks! One can only guess at the 1st 6 weeks interest. Google here I come!
Talking of Google, I can be!
'Googled', that is!
Enter 'Squish Pages' into the Google search engine and I am the 1st entry!
Game on!
I did make it to the gym after all, and I know daylight savings happen every year but, don't it get dark quick now!
7 weeks to Xmas by the way!!!

Keep on blogging!
I just wanted to say a big thanks to those of you who have visited squish pages. It's great to think that you guys would take the time out to read some rubbish I wrote. I've had, to date, 143 visits since I installed a counter, (although the counter was installed 3 weeks in, and the first 7 visits was me before I learned how to 'ghost' my computer from the counting). And this week I had a 'squish pages visitor record' of 16 hits in one calendar day. Doesn't sound much, but with and average of 9 hits a day it makes me chuffed that I've entertained that many people each day.
But just like everything, you always want more. And I'm now thinking of ways to keep you coming back and to make the occasional visitor or one off visitor come back again and again.
I've discovered a Yahoo Avatar, with which you can create a character, then dress it up however you want. Then as I found by accident when I played around with the female avatar, the changes happen live and your avatar takes on the new look. I had made a girl avatar up, then gone to bed. The next evening I came home and found the girl version had been on squish pages all day instead of the guy version I did first. Oooo the shame!
I hope one day to sell squish pages to Google (I kid). So 'Come on! Make me popular!'

See ya in a week!

Well blog fans, the time has come and I am off to the southern hemisphere. To the city of Melbourne, Australia. The purpose, well firstly to have a holiday to a part of the world I'm dying to see, and secondly, to witness the marriage Steve, and old co-worker, who emigrated earlier this year, to Carley, a full blooded Aussie, who had been studying nursing on these fair shores. Their nuptials takes place this saturday and it will be so good to see them again, and Steve is such a good man that despite being on another continent and a day ahead, has stayed in contact, with phonecalls, SMS and emails. Good on ya!

I'm hoping that my phone will work over there because I will be able to take a photo and upload it straight to squishpages, instantly. So stay tuned!
Also guys, there's a comments section at the bottom of each post. This is where YOU can participate. Leave your opinions, thoughts, well wishes and hellos! Use it or..... nothing I guess. Chow!

Its on!
This Thursday me and Kirsty head up to Leicester during 'Freshers' week at the uni to see Sarah and partake in a sample night out. Student stylee! Hopefully I get to leave work early so that the evening can get into gear that little bit earlier. I'm sure there will be lots of 'photo ops' and rest assured the best ones will be gracing this blog.
I also finally worked out how to edit the links on my page and have entered links to Kirsty's and Sarah's 'web spaces'. Welcome to my blog guys.
Party on dudes!!
