The fourth poker championship tour (July 27)

It was the usual combatants that sat round the green table and did battle. Blood, tears, gouging and loud whooping; and that was just getting the snacks!

It seemed from very early on that Chris would win, as he'd scored a few big winning hands at the start of the night; almost holding as many chips as me, Jason and Dave put together. Slowly, though, Chris's advantage was chipped away to the point where he, myself and Dave had about the same amount. Jason, as is becoming a pattern, was losing more than winning and was down on chips. He was to lose them all before the end of the night, but only by one hand. Going into that last hand, it would prove to be 'winner takes all' between me, Dave and Chris. We all bet hard but Chris had to pull out, not having a good hand to begin with. Dave and I continued to bet heavy all the way to the river card, where it turned out that Dave had the winning hand.

So there it was, another new winner. Each of the 4 of us has now won a night at poker. I intend to be the first 2 time winner. Until next time!

Poker for the 3rd time

Friday 22th June, the 3rd poker championship and the third different winner! I arrived at the directed time of 8pm only to learn that Jason was going to be an hour late and Chris was stuck in traffic and lost! The good news was it gave me time to hang out with Lucy before her bedtime. Dave was nice enough to let me have some of his homemade pizza as I'd had no dinner.

When the others arrived the serious business of cards started. Each of us had wildly different fortunes during the night; I had a slow start and slow finish, but enjoyed and successful middle to the evening. Jason started well, but spiralled downward from there and had to buy back in for the 2nd event in a row and still ended the night with no chips. David had a good start, lost his way during the middle but rallied again at the end; and eventually winner, Chris again started well enough, tailed off during the night but found form just past the halfway point and held his advantage to the end, fighting off David's late challenge.

Well done Chris! Good cards. Until next time.

Just sitting here a-flapping my gums!

I was in WHSmiths at lunchtime today and noticed the latest issue of 'Advanced Photoshop', a magazine aimed at computer artists and designers, with hints, tips and ideas on improving themselves. It was then I realised that I had lost my way with one of my New Years resolutions to get back into my art work. I had bought a new pad and pencils but so far there is only 1 doodle there.. I will need to refocus.

Its not gonna be that easy though with the new Tomb Raider game out tomorrow. It is a 're imaging' of the 1st and original game that came out a whopping 10 years ago! I have fond memories of this game; one of those landmark moments in life that stick with you long after they're gone. Like your first toy, or first holiday, or a song or book, movie or 'game'. I have to admit that I am looking forward to the new game, playing the levels again, all with a 2007 lick of paint on them!

From next week my office goes back to a 2 salesman office, because we lose new guy Abdul to the brand new Canning Town office, and revert back to the original dream team of me and Sunni. Our targets have changed accordingly which means I will now have to sell 9 properties a month, obtain 3 solicitor referrals and land 14 mortgage appointments (up from 7, 2, and 11)!! Wowzer!

Ask Guru Joe

I have a new personal advisor. He is called Guru Joe and is presented by Miniclip, provider of free mini games and cartoons. Just ask him a 'yes/no' question and he gives you an honest answer. I asked him if he was a 'con man' and he replied, 'Maybe'. That's honesty for you. Guru Joe can be found here and in my side bar.

New game.

I've posted a new game. Snowboard Madness. For those of you who likes your skiing.

Also Squish Pages is now on the newer version of Blogger which has a host of new features for me to discover. One so far is the use of 'labels'; linking all posts of a similar subject together! Ooooo!
